Drainage Strategy
At TEPL, we produce Drainage Strategies that outline the proposed drainage approach for new developments, including the implementation of Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDS).
Drainage Strategy
In England, National Planning Policy requires that planning applications for major developments are supported by a drainage strategy that include Sustainable Urban Drainage principles. While it depends on the requirements of each LPA, the main components required usually consist of the following:
The site’s characteristics;
Calculates surface water runoff rates and required storage volumes;
Details of where runoff will be discharged to;
Details of the proposed Sustainable Drainage System (SuDS) features; and
Management and maintenance details.
At TEPL, we produce Drainage Strategies that outline the proposed drainage approach for new developments, including the implementation of Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDS). This document provides Local Planning Authorities with the necessary details required to support a planning application.
